The Paducah Convention & Visitors Bureau promoted Laura Schaumburg to marketing director. Schaumburg will be responsible for all aspects of the destination’s strategic marketing and public relations, including the management of the Paducah brand which is used to attract visitors from around the world.

Hospitalist Dr. Frances Horn joined the medical staff at Western Baptist Hospital.
Horn graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she completed a residency in rural family medicine. She practiced since 1999 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla., where she served as chief of staff.
Western Baptist’s hospitalist program began in early 2009. A team of hospitalists cares for hospitalized patients whose physicians are not on the hospital staff. The hospitalist returns their care to their primary care physician after they leave the hospital.

Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner James Erwin announced that Steve Woodward has been promoted to warden at the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex in Fredonia. Woodward assumed his new duties Tuesday.
Woodward began his career with the Department of Corrections in September 1990 as a correctional officer at WKCC. He was promoted over the years, most recently to deputy warden at WKCC in January 2010, as the facility converted to an all-female population in April 2010. Woodward is a 2008 graduate of Mid-Continent University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Gov. Steve Beshear appointed Brenda R. Hosford, of Murray, to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability and Other Developmental Disabilities.
Hosford is retired. She represents family members of an adult with an intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities. The appointment replaces Glenna M. Taylor, whose term expired. Hosford will serve a term expiring July 15, 2016.
