The Paducah Area Chapter of the American Red Cross added two new employees: Katherine Thomasson and Allison Hogancamp. Thomasson, of Ledbetter, is an area service delivery specialist.

She has a 36-year background in emergency management and response, and will look to gain more shelter partnerships in McCracken, Ballard and Livingston counties.

Hogancamp, of Gilbertsville, graduated from Murray State University with a degree in marketing. She is an area volunteer coordinator and community programs specialist. She will look to recruit more volunteers and reach out into the community with preparedness programs.

Technology firm KeeFORCE in Symsonia named David Morse its director of marketing. Morse is responsible for leading the strategic marketing efforts designed to introduce more businesses to the wide variety of technology solutions offered by KeeFORCE. Morse brings 19 years of marketing, communications and brand building to the company.

The City of Mayfield hired John Reynolds as a dispatcher.

Reynolds had worked for 13 years as a dispatcher for the Kentucky State Police before joining Mayfield’s central dispatch.

Lourdes welcomed several new employees: Dr. Khai C. Truong joined its medical staff. Truong, who previously practiced at Livingston Hospital, is a graduate of Cal State University and Ross University School of Medicine in Picard, Dominica. He is certified with the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Geriatric. His office is at Redicare, 225 Medical Center Drive, Suite 101.

Trish Jordan, registered nurse, is Lourdes’ coordinator of patient safety and standards. Jordan has been a nurse on the progressive care unit and an active participant on the Patient Experience Steering Committee.

Dan Ryder, registered nurse, BSHA, is a manager at Care Management. Ryder comes to Lourdes from Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill. He earned his nursing degree from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill., and a health administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

Dr. Nathaniel Dittoe earned board certification in cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine, a member of the American Board of Medical Subspecialties.

A member of the Murray-Calloway County Hospital staff since September, Dittoe was already board-certified in the area of echocardiography, which uses an ultrasound to image the heart. The new certification allows Dittoe to practice a heart catheterization through the wrist, rather than through the leg, a technique some patients find less invasive and easier to recover from.

Gov. Steve Beshear appointed locals to Kentucky commissions:

Sarah E. Burkey, of Kevil, was appointed to the Native American Heritage Commission to serve a term expiring Sept. 1, 2015. Burkey is a self-employed recording artist and an arts and cultural hertiage educator.

Nathan Lynn, of Paducah, was appointed to the Kentucky Oral History Commission to serve a term expiring Feb. 15, 2016. Lynn is a special collections library assistant for the McCracken County Public Library.

Heath Elementary School Principal Timothy Adams is one of 47 school principals to graduate recently from the Leadership Institute for School Principals.

Six local and state organizations sponsored Adams’ enrollment in the leadership training program that provides executive-level training at the Center for Creative Leadership. Sponsors: Kentucky Chamber Foundation; AT&T Foundation; Lourdes; Community Financial Services Bank; United States Enrichment Corp.; CA Jones Management Group.

Occunet employees Dwayne Wood and Debra Janecek completed certificates for occupational hearing conservation by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation.

They also completed training in spirometry (study of the air entering and leaving the lungs) through the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Occunet, a 14-year-old medical health clinic with locations in Paducah and Calvert City, serves the industrial and business community.

U.S. Lawns of Western Kentucky, located in Mayfield, received two awards at the parent company’s national conference in Orlando, Fla.

Owner Mark Carrico accepted the 2011 Shining Star Award, given to one of the company’s owners who exemplifies and exhibits the U.S. Lawns brand, as well as the 2011 Community Involvement Award, which is given to the owner who continually gives back to his or her community.

Riley Architect Services, of Mayfield, hired Erin G. Lewis as the architectural firm’s full-time interior designer. Lewis has worked as an interior designer since 2000 with completed projects for GO-BG Transit in Bowling Green, Hutson Inc. in Morganfield and at Mid-Continent University.

Lewis graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in interior design and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. She is a National Council for Interior Design Qualifications Certificate holder and has been a registered interior designer in Tennessee.

Lourdes welcomed Marianne Fowler, registered nurse, to the position of nurse manager for medical/surgical services. Fowler comes to Lourdes from Union City, Tenn., where she served as director of patient care services for a home care agency.

Modern Woodmen of American managing partner W. Chad McAlpin, of Mayfield, received the Modern Woodmen’s District Builder Award. The distinction recognizes top managing partners who are dedicated to training representatives for long-term success.

Community Financial Services Bank named two new vice presidents who will oversee specific departments.

CFSB promoted Barry Griffith to vice president of the bank after he served as assistant vice president.

The Benton-based bank also promoted Jason Pittman to vice president after he worked as its Calloway County Banking Center manager.

Griffith, of Paducah, began his career at CFSB in March 2006 as a commercial and residential lender with 20 years of previous banking experience.

A Heath High School graduate, Griffith earned a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and graduated in 2004 from the American Bankers Association National Commercial Lending School in Dallas. Griffith also earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.

Pittman, of Murray, graduated from Calloway County High School and began his career at CFSB in December 2008 as the Calloway County Banking Center manager. Before that, Pittman served as director of the CFSB Center at Murray State University.

Pittman graduated from Murray State University in 2003 and earned a diploma from the Kentucky Bankers Association’s General Banking School in 2011.

Sarah Cornn, of Murray, joined SmartPath Technologies of Calvert City as a client care administrative specialist. Cornn will handle administration of the company’s technology services as well as perform general client liaison services. A Mayfield native, Cornn graduated from Murray State University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in business.

Prior to joining SmartPath Technologies, Cornn worked for almost 11 years as manager at Taco John’s of Murray.

Mike Young, a risk adviser at Peel & Holland in Benton, earned certifications of Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities and Certified School Risk Manager.

The former certification goes to professionals who complete a course and pass an exam on risk management. The latter is a five-part designation program that requires participants to complete five courses and exams. These CSRMs learn the fundamentals of risk management and how to handle, measure, fund and administer school risks.

Paducah native Chad Johnson has been nominated for the highest honor in the food industry, the James Beard Foundation Award.

Johnson is a semifinalist for the award for Best Chef of the South. Johnson, 32, graduated from Heath High School in 1997.

He graduated from the French Culinary Institute in New York City and is executive chef at SideBern’s Restaurant in Tampa, Fla. Johnson’s earliest influence for becoming a chef was his experience in the kitchen at Whaler’s Catch.

He is the son of John and Bryna Johnson, formerly of Paducah, and is married to the former Ashley Bellamy.

Catherine W. Blythe completed the Uniform Certified Pubic Accountant examination. Blythe graduated from Heath High School in 2007 and is a 2011 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Kentucky with degrees in accounting and finance.

Blythe works for Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain in Nashville, Tenn. She is the daughter of Lars and Molly Blythe of Paducah.

Paducah catering company A Pampered Palate added Paducah native Sarah Warford to its culinary team. Warford graduated from the culinary school at Sullivan University in Lexington. While attending college, Warford was hired at A La Lucie, one of Lexington’s oldest and well-respected fine dining restaurants.

A.T. Food Service Equipment in Paducah promoted Wendy Bliss from office manager to vice president of equipment sales. The company at 3320 N. Friendship Road sells commercial kitchen equipment.

Bob Hoppmann was named president, Allen Dossey vice president, Tom Curtsinger treasurer and Maurica Toon secretary.

Lynn King, director of operational excellence at Lourdes, was named to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Buddy Smith, a retired McCracken County engineer, nominated King for the honor recognizing Kentuckians for noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or nation.

Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs, an accounting firm in Jackson, Tenn., promoted Kim Wilson, of Murray, to senior manager.

Alexander Thompson was named the seventh-largest accounting firm in Tennessee by the American City Business Journal in 2011.

First Kentucky Bank presented its 2011 Service Awards to five employees who reached employment milestones at the bank.

Celia Hickman, a loan operations clerk, received a 30-year service award.

Four received 10-year service awards: Christa Dodge, real estate loan processor; Nicole Sullivan, branch administration officer; Karon Holley, accounts payable and application balancing processor; and Tory Burney, deposit operations clerk.

John Williams Jr., senior vice president of a Wells Fargo advisers office in Paducah, was named a member of the firm’s Premier advisers program for the eighth consecutive year.

To qualify for the program, company financial advisers must demonstrate a high level of production and a commitment to professional service.

Williams has been a financial adviser with Wells Fargo for 14 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Emory University in Atlanta and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Williams earned a master’s degree in personal financial planning from the College of Financial Planning in Greenwood, Colo. He holds professional certifications as a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Investment Management Analyst.

The city of Mayfield named Sgt. Brandon Collins of the Mayfield Police Department its employee of the month for February. Collins has worked for Mayfield police since August 2007.

Jessica Rowland joined Fox & Company CPAs Inc. in Mayfield as the company’s new office manager. Rowland earned an associate’s degree in computer information technology from Draughon’s Junior College and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Dr. Kanchan Koirala earned a certification in sleep medicine. Koirala serves as Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s medical director of the cardiopulmonary department and the Sleep Disorders Center. Koirala is board certified in sleep medicine, internal medicine, critical care and pulmonary medicine.

He graduated from MLN Medical College, Allahabad University in India and completed his medical degree at Tribhuwan University in Nepal. Koirala completed his residency program at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., and completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Tennessee, Memphis.
