Bill O’Brien is new director of operations for Paducah’s Vinyl Window Technologies, known as ViWinTech. He spent 30 years with B.F. Goodrich in Calvert City, where he worked in human resources and later was plant manager, developing quality management techniques. ViWinTech has made window and patio door products for 24 years and now serves more than 25 states as well as international customers.
Veteran outdoor writer and editor Colin Moore is new editor-in-chief of FLW Outdoors magazine, based in Benton. He graduated from Murray State University in 1972 and Columbia University in New York in 2005. Moore holds many writing awards and has 25 years’ experience, including former executive editor of Outdoor Life magazine.
Tamera Jackson is a new personal banker at the Strawberry Hill branch of The Paducah Bank and Trust Co. Jackson, who has eight years of financial services industry experience, is a graduate of Heath High School and a 2008 graduate of West Kentucky Community & Technical College.
Rayla Bridges joined Paducah Printing Corp./Horizon Media Group as a sales representative for design, print and Web services. Bridges holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Murray State University. She previously worked as marketing manager and graphic designer for WinScribe, an international software development firm, and for the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center.
Kate Roberts has joined The Paducah Bank and Trust Co. as a personal banker. A Paducah native and graduate of Lone Oak High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Murray State University in 2009. She participated in the Walt Disney World College Program in 2007.
Wes Bradford of Paducah is a new producer for Western Rivers Insurance. He holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation and has more than 25 years’ insurance experience, including commercial accounts with an emphasis on trucking and moving and storage in many states. Greg Yates has joined the staff of Clayton, Byrd & Meeks, CPAs. He has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University, is accredited as a Certified Internal Auditor by the Institute of Internal Auditors, and has been licensed as a CPA since 2000.
Zachary D. McMillan is a new partner with McMurry & Livingston law firm. The Paducah native holds a BS degree in economics from Murray State University and his doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law. While attending UK, he clerked for Kentucky Supreme Court Justice J.W. “Bill” Graves. He is a member of the McCracken County, Kentucky and American bar associations. McMillan focuses on real estate, trust and estate, and business law.
Kay Feathers is new SkyWest station manager at Barkley Regional Airport, leading a staff of 12 when jet service to Chicago began Feb. 11. She previously was SkyWest manager in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and started with the company 11 years ago. She is married with two grown children.
Tommy Legins of Martin, Tenn., is a partner with Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs after two years with the firm. He specializes in tax, QuickBooks consulting and small businesses. The CPA holds an accounting degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and the Certified Valuation Analyst accreditation. The firm has 11 offices, including Murray and Fulton.

Richard A. Anderson, executive director of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, is a new member of the Computer Services Inc. board of directors. Anderson’s experience, leadership and foresight are an asset to the company, said CSI Chairman John A. Williams. The Atlanta Business Chronicle named Anderson one of the 100 most influential Atlantans. A Georgia public service leader and former group resident of AT&T Global Business Services, Anderson was chairman of the Atlanta Metro Chamber of Commerce and led the creation of a statewide strategic transportation plan. He sits on various advisory boards, including Murray State University, where he received an MBA in 1981.
Stacy Thomas, director of business education and leadership for the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, attended the Business LEADs Institute, a three-day seminar Feb. 22-24 in Washington, D.C. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce selected Thomas for her community leadership. She learned how the business community can use its assets to improve the area through education and work force training.
Dr. Patrick Withrow, cardiologist and Western Baptist Hospital vice president-chief medical officer, was one of the keynote speakers Feb. 23 at the Kentucky Cardiovascular Task Force Workshop in Frankfort. The program stems from a yearlong effort to assess training needs of first responders, nurses and physicians in identifying and treating heart attacks. Participants will discuss available resources for education about heart attack warning signs, heart-healthy living and continuing education for medical professionals.
Ellie Gore of Lone Oak is the first woman and youngest person to be elected to the Kentucky Dairy Development Council board of directors. She and her family own and operate one of two dairy farms in McCracken County.
Adrianne Gleeson, budget and human resources administrator for the City of Paducah, recently earned certification as a Professional in Human Resources. She passed a comprehensive HR Certification Institute exam and demonstrated strong practical experience showing mastery of her field.
Paducah’s All About Honeymoons Travel was named one of the top 10 U.S. agencies and a Best of the Best leader by Sandals Resorts, the Luxury Included Vacation. J.T. Fulkerson is Paducah area franchise owner.
Nashville, Tenn.-based Ingram Barge Co., with fleeting operations in Paducah, is among the first marine transportation companies accepted as a partner in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay Program. The program identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related emissions. It requires measuring the environmental performance of a fleet, identifying goals for improving environmental performance within three years, submitting an action plan to the EPA within six months of agreement to participate, and reporting progress to the EPA annually. CEO Craig Philip said the firm has a company-wide sustainability program and green initiatives.
Western Baptist Hospital is featured on a national health care quality Web site as one of the top-performing hospitals in the country in pneumonia care. It was chosen because it is among the top 3 percent in pneumonia care among 2,800 hospitals with 50 or more beds. A 12-page case study at WhyNotTheBest.org features publicly available data, as well as interviews with hospital staff, including Meri Curtis, director of quality resources, and Kim Wrye, outcomes manager/pneumonia team facilitator. Western Baptist’s multidisciplinary teams focus on quality improvement by monitoring core measure performance data and identifying areas for improvement.
Three banks with locations in far western Kentucky won 2009 Small Business Administration Lender Awards. They are: U.S. Bank National Association, Gold Regional Lender Award, 31 loans totaling $2.6 million; Fifth Third Bank, Bronze Regional Lender Award and Top Dollar Lender, National/Regional Banks, 18 loans totaling $6.9 million; and The Paducah Bank and Trust Co., Silver Community Lender Award, 36 loans totaling $4.7 million.
FNB Bank Chief Financial Officer Paul Scott received the 2010 Graduate School of Banking Advisory Board Scholarship in Kentucky on behalf of the Mayfield-based bank. The scholarship, from the GSB at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, denotes FNB’s outstanding financial performance, as well as commitment to the communities it serves and the financial services industry. Scott will attend the 25-month Graduate School of Banking program starting in August. He holds a Master of Business Education degree. He and his wife Heather, have a son, Scott.
Independence Bank, Edward Jones and Hilliard Lyons, all with offices in the Paducah area, are winners in the Sixth Annual Best Places to Work competition that the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management State Council held in conjunction with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Rankings will be announced at an April 21 awards dinner at the Lexington Convention Center. Independence Bank won among businesses of 25-249 employees in Kentucky, and Edward Jones and Hilliard Lyons among firms of at least 250 workers. Companies were selected based on an assessment of employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey.
Sharon L. Carter, home care and hospice community liaison, was recognized as Lourdes’ Excellence in Mission honoree during a ceremony in Cincinnati. Colleagues in long-term care, home health and hospice selected her for having a strong commitment to the healing ministry of Lourdes and parent firm Catholic Healthcare Partners.
Dr. John Thomas Logsdon of Lourdes Wound Care has acquired the status of Physician Certified in Wound Care from the Council for Medical Education and Testing. He is the only Kentucky surgeon west of Louisville with the distinction, according to the council. Logsdon has been with Lourdes Wound Care for 10 years.
Jim Conn of Commercial Door & Hardware in Paducah is secretary of the 2010 Leadership Kentucky board of directors. Bill Jones of U.S. Bank in Paducah is a director by being chairman of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
